Welcome to the 3rd Annual Fletcher School Africana Conference!
The Fletcher School Africana Club is pleased to present the 3rd Annual Africana Conference, From Rhetoric to Action: Getting Things Done in Modern Day Africa, to be held on February 5th, 2016 at The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy.
Discourse surrounding Africa’s emergence often focuses on challenges rather than opportunities. The 2016 Fletcher School Africana Conference will move beyond the conventional discourse to uncover and inspire the implementation of actionable solutions for some of the most critical challenges facing Africa today. Panelists are encouraged to share insights, best practices, and success stories from their professional experience that will be compiled into a conference report for distribution to all conference participants.
Fletcher students represent a diverse cross-section of individuals who have come from, and will be returning to, decision-making positions at private, public and nonprofit firms engaging with the continent. Their desire to move beyond rhetoric and improve their ability to execute change in modern-day Africa is reflected in the choice of this year’s panels and speakers.
In addition to our panels, we are pleased to welcome two distinguished keynote speakers. Our lunchtime program will also feature an organisation showcase, exhibiting work from students and local organisations that are showing a bias to action on the continent.
We look forward to welcoming you to The Fletcher School for an incredible day looking at progress on the continent from this unique multi-disciplinary viewpoint that only Fletcher can bring!
