Please use the link below to provide feedback about the Day 1 and 2 of the World Tour of Genomics Resources

Monday, January 14 – Friday, January 18, 2013, 9:00AM – Noon

Sackler Room 514Lax Iyer, PhD

This course will introduce the researcher to the vast array of resources that are available to carry out both basic and complex genomic analysis. Learners will be introduced to the following resources: NCBI, UCSC and EBI, Galaxy genome analysis server, and exposed to Unix, Perl, EMBOSS, R/Bioconductor. This course will also include resources for self-learning genomics analysis and some of the tools used in this series of courses.

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Identify websites that provide information and resources for genomics analysis
  • Use UCSC genome browser for basic queries
  • Conduct advanced queries in Galaxy (i.e. identify all non-synonymous SNPs in the genome, locate all genes located in a specific genomic interval)
  • Access the Tufts computing cluster
  • Use basic Unix commands
  • Utilize R to access Bioconductor packages.

The Resources for these courses will be made available here!
