Funding the Future of Public Health: Back from the Brink?

What: Massachusetts Public Health Association Annual Conference

When: November 18th, 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Where: Doubletree Hotel, Westborough, MA

CHAT will host a carpool contact us if you’d like a ride!

The conference will include:

  • Keynote Speaker Jeff Levi, Executive Director of Trust for America’s Health, will address the unprecedented funding challenges facing public health today and the emerging opportunities for funding a strong 21st century public health system.
  • A lively panel discussion about public health funding in the Commonwealth
  • Exhibitors representing grassroots organizations and local businesses
  • Networking opportunities

MPHA is also looking for Tufts student to volunteer at the conference. This is an excellent opportunity to network with MPHA, public health professionals and fellow students, as well as represent Tufts University.

Hello CHAT members!

I hope you are having a fantastic break and I have some great news which is white hot off the CHAT presses!

The 5th Annual Conference for Heart Healthy Stroke Free Massachusetts will take place on January 28, 2011; this year’s conference is Weighing the Evidence: Changing Policy, Systems, and the Environment for Preventing and Managing  Heart Disease, Stroke, and Diabetes. The closing speaker will be Dave McGillivray, Boston Marathon Race Director.

Part-Time Research Assistant at Health Resources in Action in their Research and Evaluation Department. Please see the “Get Involved Now!” section for more details.

Planning Committee in Boston for a Single-Payer System in Vermont this coming Saturday, January 8th. Simeon Kimmel is the lead on this planning committee. Here is a comprehensive power point on VT having the chance to form a state wide single-payer system which was made by a Yale medical student.
