Join us for a screening of the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) Documentary: â€śMohammad and the Matchmaker,â€ť a film about HIV/AIDS in Iran. This film features Dr. Arash Alaei and Dr. Kamiar Alaei, our guests at the Tufts World AIDS Day lecture this Thursday. Catch a glimpse of their work in action before you see them speak!

In recognition of World AIDS Day, we are honored to host two distinguished speakers, Dr. Kamiar Alaei and Dr. Arash Alaei, two Iranian physicians who have received international attention for their work in HIV/AIDS.
Dr. Alaei and Dr. Alaei co-authored Iran’s National Strategic Plan for the Control of HIV/AIDS 2002-2007, and were awarded $15.8 million by the Global Fund to control HIV/AIDS in Iran. Accolades include:
Heinz R. Pagels Human Rights of Scientists Award from the New York Academy of Science in 2009
Jonathan Mann Award for Global Health and Human Rights by the Global Health Council in June 2011
Inaugural Award for Leadership in Health and Human Rights by PAHO/WHO in Dec. 2011
Inaugural Elizabeth Taylor Award in Recognition of Efforts to Advocate for Human Rights in the field of HIV by The Foundation for AIDS Research and the International AIDS Society in July 2012
