Global Speaker Series

Global Leaders Series on Environment and Natural Resources

2016 will be a critical year for advancing progress on the inseparable issues of development, poverty and climate change. 2016 is a year of opportunity for leaders to step-up and take climate action.

Every country, no matter of its stage of development, can strive to effectively manage its economy, so as to de-carbonize while ending poverty and boosting shared prosperity. By the end of this year in Paris, the international community will have the opportunity to send a clear signal that we, as a global community, are determined to manage our economies to achieve zero net emissions before the year 2100.

Curated by Professors of Practice Patrick Verkooijen and Rachel Kyte of the World Bank, this speaker series brings leading practitioners from government, NGOs, and the private sector to Fletcher to discuss:

  • how they are driving change in the field of environment and natural resource management,
  • the challenges they face and how they are being overcome,
  • and whether these strategies can be taken to scale.
