Citing a scholarly paper
The Tufts Digital Library holdings include many works of scholarship by our faculty, students, and staff. In most cases, copyright on these scholarly works is owned by the creator(s) of the work.
When citing a scholarly work, use the following format:
Author. "Title of paper." Journal Title vol.# (Year): page numbers. Available from Tufts Digital Library, Digital Collections and Archives, Medford, MA. Citable URL (accessed date).
Example:
Dennett, Daniel C. "Are Dreams Experiences?" Philosophical Review, vol. 85 (1976): 151-171. Available from Tufts Digital Library, Digital Collections and Archives, Medford, MA. http://hdl.handle.net/10427/47718 (accessed September 4, 2010).
Fair Use and Copyright
It is the patron’s obligation to determine and satisfy fair use and copyright when publishing or otherwise distributing materials found in DCA collections.
