Some of our best resources for content in Web Comm are the students themselves. This is why each semester we put a call out looking for bright and talented Tufts undergrads to fill a number of internship roles.
This fall, we filled four positions: two social media interns, one calendar intern and one video intern.
As we continue to focus more on the strategy behind our social media presence, we expect junior Rebecca Spiewak’s experience as an information management intern for JPMorgan Chase to prove quite valuable. As part of this position, Rebecca created various dashboards for data collection and statistical analyses. Rebecca has also worked as a research assistant in the Interpersonal Perception and Communication Lab here at Tufts, which has enhanced her very thoughtful approach to how and why people communicate through social media.
Joining her as our second social media intern, junior Veronica Richter comes to us after spending her summer interning for Traakcr, a startup that helps marketers identify the most influential social media users in any given niche. There she helped manage the company’s own social media efforts, while also creating a social media strategy based on competitor analysis. Veronica also writes a blog for Tufts Admissions on her life as a junior. With two of her greatest passions being social media and Tufts, Veronica is a great fit for our team.
In addition to our two social media interns, we are also lucky to have two other talented Tufts undergraduates working with us this semester.
Sophomore Amelia Cohen joins us as our new calendar intern, working with our brand new calendar system. Amelia will sort through incoming submissions, checking for accuracy and calling to our attention any events we may want to highlight in the future.
Finally, after being such a great asset to us over the summer, junior Gene Buonaccorsi will be staying on as our video intern, producing content for our Jumbo Shorts blog and a few other video content ideas we have been pulling together. We are so happy to have Gene’s talent and creativity.
Here’s looking ahead to another great semester!
