Web Communications is looking for a social media intern for the Spring 2012 semester.
Tasks include live-tweeting events on campus for our @TuftsLive Twitter account (http://twitter.com/TuftsLive), helping create content for the @TuftsUniversity Twitter account (http://twitter.com/TuftsUniversity) and Tufts University Facebook page (http://facebook.com/tuftsu), finding content and writing blog posts for Jumble (http://sites.tufts.edu/jumble) and our Events Blog (http://sites.tufts.edu/events), helping manage Tufts’ presence on Foursquare (http://foursquare.com/tuftsuniversity) and compiling statistics for regularly maintained social media metric dashboards, among other duties.
Candidates should be active on or familiar with Twitter, active Facebook users, an avid writer or reader of blogs, and generally interested in new technologies and social media as a marketing and communications tool.
Candidates must be dependable, organized and good communicators, with availability to work one shift weekly in the office (minimum two hours) and additional hours outside the office during the day, night or weekend. Interns will work approximately eight hours per week.
