We are looking for a summer intern to help us here in the Web Communications Department. Web Communications has a paid internship available for summer 2013.
The Web Communications Department manages the main Tufts University Facebook page, Twitter handle, YouTube account, Jumble blog, Events blog, and more. We are in need of a summer social media intern who will write posts for Jumble and the Events blog, attend events and possibly live tweet from the @TuftsLive handle, occasionally take photos for Facebook and/or Twitter, help monitor chatter and sentiment on social media, help manage upkeep on the Twitter account and Facebook page, manage the main Tufts events calendar, and take on other related projects and assignments as necessary.
Ideal interns are active on or familiar with Twitter, active Facebook users, avid writers or readers of blogs, and generally interested in new technologies and social media as a marketing and communications tool. Ideal candidates are aware of the differences between personal social media use and social media as a communication tool for brands.
Candidates must be dependable, organized, and good communicators, with availability to work approximately ten hours a week, some of which may be outside the office, during the day, night or weekend.
