Want to Develop your Research Skills with Young Children?

We are looking for two bilingual (English/Spanish) research assistants to conduct child assessments and classroom observations in preschool classrooms. This study hopes to better understand practices that support the socio-emotional development of preschool children learning two or more languages. You will be working with a doctoral student, Maria Cristina Limlingan and her faculty advisor Dr. Christine McWayne.

Research assistants will work around 20 hours a week for 2 – 3 weeks at two different time points. The first period will be between late October to November 2014 and the next period will be in late April to May 2015. The position involves travel to the East Boston area in Boston, MA. You will receive training for the classroom observation and child assessment measures to be used prior to data collection. This is a paid position.

Qualified applicants are fluent in Spanish and English, have strong organizational skills, high attention to detail, and an interest in early childhood education and bilingual language development.  A bachelor’s degree or prior work experience in psychology or a related field is preferred.
