The Academic Resource Center (ARC) at Tufts University is seeking applications from graduate students from Arts and Sciences, Engineering, and the SMFA *in any discipline* to serve as Graduate Writing Consultants for next academic year. The starting pay rate is $20/hour with opportunities for advancement after the first year. The priority deadline to apply is Tuesday, April 18, 2017.

Graduate Writing Consultants work one-on-one with undergraduate and graduate students on a variety of writing activities, including coursework, theses, lab reports, personal statements for scholarships, and many other projects. The Academic Resource Center is committed to diversity and strongly encourages applications from students of color and students with nontraditional backgrounds.

This job might appeal to any graduate student who:
• Has experience as a teacher or tutor providing written or verbal feedback on student papers or lab reports
• Has provided verbal or written feedback on peer writing (for example, feedback on an article a friend wants to publish, participation in a group writing project, etc)
• Has professional experience editing or working with writers on a publication
• Has experience teaching (or tutoring) English as a Second Language (ESL) or helping non-native speakers with writing or speaking English
• Is interested in a career of teaching at the high school or college level
• Enjoys the *process* aspect of writing

We are also hiring writing consultants who would also be interested in working with students on their public speaking skills, and writing consultants who would be willing to pilot a new writing support initiative on the SMFA campus.

Ongoing paid training is provided, with mandatory intensive training at the end of August for new consultants. Check out http://go.tufts.edu/beaGWC for a full job description and instructions on how to apply! And see what the ARC offers grad students at http://go.tufts.edu/ARCgraduate.
