2014 Order of the Engineer Ceremony

The Tufts School of Engineering would like to offer engineering seniors, graduate students, faculty, and administration the opportunity to be initiated into the Order of the Engineer. The Order is an honor society dedicated to upholding the ethical standards of the engineering profession.

Upon becoming a member of Order of the Engineer, you will receive a certificate and stainless steel ring to wear on the fifth finger of your writing hand. The ring acts as a reminder to act ethically when you draw plans, do calculations, or write code.  For more information, please visit http://www.order-of-the-engineer.org/.

Individuals in an ABET accredited undergraduate or graduate engineering program and any licensed professional engineers are eligible to join the Order of the Engineer.

If you wish to participate in the 2014 Order of the Engineer induction ceremony, please RSVP by filling out this form.  Please size the pinky finger of your writing hand prior to completing the form. Ring sizers will be available in the EPDC and School of Engineering Administrative Offices (Anderson 109). The purchase of the rings will be sponsored by the Engineering Dean’s Office.

The deadline to RSVP is Friday, April 18.

The Order of the Engineer Ceremony will be held on Friday, May 2, 2014 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm in Alumnae Lounge. A reception with hors d’oeuvres will follow. Business casual attire is appropriate.
