Distance and Blended Learning Initiative

ESTS co-sponsors the Tufts Distance Learning Consortium, a community of practice include faculty, staff, and students who are focused on design and delivery of blended and online learning programs and courses.

We have been engaged in strategic planning for services to support distance and blended learning at Tufts, and this year’s initiative is designed to enable significant progress toward this goal. The initiative includes having a distance and blended learning expert work part-time with ESTS and drawing upon additional expertise internally and externally to achieve the following:

  • instructional design and technology support for new distance and blended courses, including a prospective MOOC (massively open online course);
  • technology planning and coordination for these courses;
  • continued planning support for newly emerging Tufts distance and blended learning programs;
  • business model research and design in support of strategic goals for distance and blended learning at Tufts.
