Academic Technology Fellows
Tufts TTS Academic Technology Fellows Program (AT Fellows)
AT Fellows work closely with faculty to identify and implement technological solutions to meet their educational and/or research goals. Fellows provide faculty with ongoing technical assistance during the term, and/or assist with in-depth integration of technology into course curricula or lab practices.
Fellows are selected from diverse disciplines and work 5-10 hours per week beginning in mid-August and ending in May. Pay rates range from $15-$20/hour depending upon experience.
Gain experience & training
Academic Technology Fellows receive orientation and special training on best practices from academic technologists, librarians, and other specialists in relevant disciplines. In addition to their work with faculty, Fellows meet and interact regularly with AT staff and share their experiences with peers through regular gatherings. They collaborate with colleagues in TTS Academic Technology to prepare and facilitate presentations, colloquia, and discussion groups for members of academic programs who are interested in teaching and/or research supported by technology.
Familiarity with available academic technologies at Tufts and beyond and some knowledge of web fundamentals is desirable. Other desirable qualifications include familiarity with tools for online teaching, learning, and research in the applicant’s discipline; computer application design and development; multimedia production and post-production; familiarity with creation and management of web content; and/or experience with technologies that support digital course or lab resource development in the applicant’s field.
Applicants should be organized and have excellent oral and written communication skills. Most importantly, they should have a strong commitment to using technology to enhance teaching, learning, and/or research and to facilitate the intellectual connection between students and faculty.
This position is open to Tufts University students from all Schools.
