Alan Shapiro Entrepreneurial Lecture featuring Charles Sennott

Charles Sennott is a “reluctant entrepreneur” who took his friend’s advice to “go out and change the world.” On Monday, March 26, he shared his story of co-founding GlobalPost at the Alan Shapiro Entrepreneurial Lecture.
This Lecture Series brings guests to Tufts to share their journeys as entrepreneurial leaders. Alan’s sons, Jacob A08, and Caleb A11, describe their father as “an entrepreneur who embraced change” and hope that the Alan Shapiro Entrepreneurial Lectures inspire students and alumni to explore the world of entrepreneurship.

Paul English, cofounder and chief technology officer at KAYAK, was on campus Apr. 12 to speak at the inaugural Alan Shapiro Entrepreneurial Lecture Series. He discussed his career as an entrepreneur and his path to forming one of the largest travel sites on the web.
$100K Business Plan Competition

The seventh annual $100K Business Plan Competition, sponsored by Tufts Gordon Institute, was held April 6 at the Aidekman Arts Center. The 11 business plan competition finalists pitched their business plans to a panel of judges. Six teams competed in the classic competition, and five in the social entrepreneurship competition. Teams included alumni, graduate and undergraduate students from AS&E and The Fletcher School.
