
Rachel joined the Feinstein Center in 2012 as an Assistant Researcher working with Drs. Dan Maxwell and Dyan Mazurana in the DFID-funded Secure Livelihoods Research Consortium (SLRC). She has previously been involved in FIC projects on livelihoods and disaster risk reduction, MIT/USAID’s Urban Resilience in Chronic Violence project, and the international Gender and Disaster Network, as well as risk and crisis management for international education and development organizations. Rachel received dual Master’s degrees from The Fletcher School and the department of Urban & Environmental Policy & Planning at Tufts University in May 2012, with a focus on urban resilience and human security. She holds a B.A. in history and international studies from Macalester College.
