Connecticut Department of Energy & Environmental Protection GIS Data

GIS Data from the Connecticut Department of Energy & Environmental Protection are downloadable in Shapefile and File Geodatabase format. FGDC metadata and cartographic symbology defined in .lyr files are included with each download. They include environmental, geology, soil, hydrography, and conservation themed data.

Florida Geographic Data Library

The Florida Geographic Data Library (FGDL) is a mechanism for distributing spatial data throughout the state of Florida. Currently, there are over 350 current and historic GIS layers in the FGDL, from over 35 local, state, federal, and private agencies. FGDL includes data on Land Use/ Land Cover, Hydrography, Soils, Transportation, Boundaries, Environmental Quality, Conservation, Census, and more. FGDL contains primarily vector GIS data layers.

Pennsylvania Bureau of Topographic and Geologic Survey

Pennsylvania Geospatial Data Clearinghouse

Pennsylvania Spatial Data Access (PASDA) is the official public access geospatial clearinghouse for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.  This site has good soil, glacial, coal, oil/gas shale, and watershed data among other geologic themes.

RIGIS Geospatial Data Catalog

Geological Survey of Ireland

The Geological Survey of Ireland (GSI) is the National Earth Science Agency. It is responsible for providing geological advice and information, and for the acquisition of data for this purpose. GSI produces a range of products including maps, reports and databases and acts as a knowledge centre and project partner in all aspects of Irish geology.

USGS Projects in Afghanistan

A variety of downloadable geospatial reference datasets relating to Afghanistan. They range from Landsat images to topographic products and the results of airborne surveys. Czech Geological Survey

EarthScope is freely-accessible data and data products from thousands of geophysical instruments that measure motions of the Earth’s surface, record seismic waves, and recover rock samples from depths at which earthquakes originate.

National States Geographic Information Council GIS Inventory

The GIS Inventory is produced by the National States Geographic Information Council as a tool for states and their partners. Its primary purpose is to track data availability and the status of GIS implementation in state and local governments to aid the planning and building of Spatial Data Infrastructures. The Random access metadata for online nationwide assessments (Ramona) database is a critical component of the GIS Inventory.  Use this tool if you are having trouble finding data for a specific area of interest.

USGS Alaska Geospatial Data Clearinghouse
