My name is Gloria Guevara Alvarez and I am a doctoral candidate in the Food Policy and Applied Nutrition Program (FPAN) at the Tufts University Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy. I completed my M.P.P.A with a specialization in international organizations at Northwestern University in 2009. I received my B.A. in Latin American Studies from Wellesley College in 2001.
My training in policy and administration is an important foundation for my interest in food security policy and food systems and regional distribution systems.
My passion is the intersection of policy and economics and how to use interdisciplinary thinking to address complex problems underlying food insecurity like links between agriculture and nutrition.
