We were very pleased to learn on Sunday, July 8, that the $3.25 million that the Budget Conference Committee recommended for our FY13 state appropriation was signed into law by Governor Deval Patrick. We are grateful to all who continue to help as we seek to strengthen state support for veterinary medical education in the Commonwealth.
We owe special thanks to our own legislators, Senator Mike Moore and Representative George Peterson, and to the leadership in both houses, especially Speaker Robert DeLeo and Senate President Therese Murray, as well as the members of the Conference Committee, which opted to retain the higher appropriation amount from the House budget. Governor Deval Patrick and Lt. Gov. Tim Murray provided critical support and we are very pleased that the final appropriation was allowed to stand without veto or modification.
Please take a moment to send an email of thanks to these key individuals via the pages on this site.
The Cummings School has established a long and successful record of achievement in our public-private partnership with the state. That reputation is built on your efforts and is the reason we are able to sustain state support, even in difficult economic times. Thank you for your hard work and for taking the time to communicate with legislators on the school’s behalf.
All the best,
