Torn between taking a break to make a craft or to eat a snack? This week you’re in luck! Stop by the Library Service Desk this Thursday 12/7 and Friday 12/8 starting at 1pm and create an architectural masterpiece with graham crackers, frosting, and a bunch of candy.
And to make this week even sweeter, we’re also welcoming Paws for People back on Thursday from 2-4pm! Stop by the room behind the cafe on Sackler 4 and relax with some therapy dogs. But please don’t share your gingerbread house with them!
The weather is gross and you have a lot of work to do. Why not cheer yourself up by sending some love? This Thursday and Friday we’ll have a variety of supplies out at the Library Service Desk so you can make valentines for yourself, your friends, or that special someone (your favorite librarian, perhaps?). Let someone know how much you appreciate them! (Or just have fun playing with some glitter and doilies). Crafting starts at noon!
The Student Wellness Advisor will also be hosting a few fun events this week:
Wed 2/8 : Tea and Treats
2:30-4pm, Sackler 4 behind the cafe
Enjoy an afternoon study break with the Wellness Advisor
Thurs 2/9: Analysis of Love and Relationships
12-1pm in Sackler 316
Lunch will be provided for this discussion group
Fri 2/10: Fun Day
3-4:30pm, Sackler 507
Unwind with therapy dogs and people treats!
Torn between taking a break to make a craft or to eat a snack? This week you’re in luck! Stop by the Library Service Desk this Thursday 12/8 and Friday 12/9 starting at 12pm and create an architectural masterpiece with graham crackers, frosting, and a bunch of candy. Each element tastes good on its own, but it tastes even better together in the shape of a house.
It’s our favorite time of year! Yes, that’s right. It’s turkey time!
Starting at 12pm this Thursday 11/17 and Friday 11/18, you can stop by the Library Service Desk and create your own feathered friend to bring home to Mom (or back to your study carrel). We’ll have a variety of materials out so you can create anything your heart desires, from the simple and majestic hand turkey (our personal favorite) to some 3D pinecone poultry.
Don’t have time to delve into a craft?
Just lend a hand–we only need the outline!–to the giant library turkey we plan to make.
See you there!
You’re hard at work preparing for finals, but that doesn’t mean you have to miss out on holiday cheer! Take a break, stretch your legs, and head down to the library service desk on Thursday or Friday afternoon. We’ll have the supplies for graham cracker gingerbread houses, coffee-filter snowflakes, and more!

We always hope our crafts help you relax and have a bit of fun, but in honor of National Stress Awareness Month, we chose the ones this week with stress reduction specifically in mind.
We’ll have glass stones you can decorate to motivate you, make you smile, or give you a bit of luck on your work! We’ll also have some coloring pages so you can engage in meditative coloring…or just make a sweet dinosaur to stick on the wall of your study carrel. And, as always, we’ll have a bunch of construction paper, pipe cleaners, and googly eyes so you can let your creativity run wild!
So stop by the 4th floor desk starting at 2pm and unwind!

Ahhhhh!
It’s National Stress Awareness Month!
Take a moment to breathe deep, go for a stroll, do some stretches, or play a game (don’t forget, we have some at the Library Service Desk!).
You could also do this, but we don’t recommend it:

Here at Hirsh Library, we’ll have some activities throughout the month to help you de-stress, so stay tuned! In the meantime, check out some of the stress-reduction and relaxation tools up on the Tufts’ Counseling & Mental Health Services website.
