Tufts Tae Kwon Do club showed off their moves this past month at the Chinese Student Association event in Sophia Gordon. The group competes regularly in local tournaments as well as practices multiple times a week in Hill Hall. You can see the video of their performance below:
On their site, Tufts TKD describes their specific type of fighting:
Taekwondo is a “hard style” of martial arts, meaning it focuses on punches, kicks, and blocks instead of joint locks, grabs, and throws. It is distinctive among hard styles because of its high, powerful, elegant kicks. Taekwondo is a Korean martial art and has a long and intricate history.
The group invites all students, regardless of skill level, to come join them during their practices and learn more about the art of Tae Kwon Do. Simply contact a student from their exec board for information on times.
