Posted by Veronica Richter in Student Experience, Students, Video on September 20, 2011
One of the most memorable orientation experiences for incoming first year Jumbos is the first a cappella show of the year: The O-Show, a free performance where Tufts’ favorite a cappella groups welcome the newcomers to our community. One of these favorites is Essence, an all-female a cappella gr0up focused on music of the African Diaspora and African-American Tradition.
Enjoy their O-Show performance of “Good Girl” by Chrisette Michele, featuring soloist Erica Satin-Hernandez, A13:

EDIT: They are also on Facebook! You can also get more information on the Orientation website.

Jackson Dolan, E11, inspired by social experiments such as this one staged by Urban Prankster, decided to spice up April Open House by conducting an “MP3 experiment” on the academic quad. Dozens of students used headphones to simultaneously listen to a pre-recorded MP3 which directed them to do silly things in sync. The Tufts Daily reports:
With random high-fives, spontaneous dancing, and an impressive conga line, the experiment certainly caught the attention of the class of 2015 and their families.”
Here’s a video of the event:
