On Wednesday February 3rd the LL.M. Program welcomed Professor William Park, from Boston University School of Law, as our first High Table speaker for the Spring. Professor Park is an expert in International Business Law, and he spoke to us about his work in arbitration, and investor state dispute resolution. According to Professor Park, arbitration plays an important role in investor state dispute resolution because it guarantees that foreign investors will be able to bring investment related claims against sovereign states to an impartial tribunal, rather than the local courts of the sovereign state.
Professor Park was recently featured in a BU article on his work, which is available here: http://www.bu.edu/law/2015/09/23/investor-state-dispute-resolution-and-the-value-of-international-arbitration/
