The Mote Emotion & Social Health (MESH) Lab at Tufts University focuses on understanding and addressing the emotional and social difficulties of people with and without mental health concerns. We ask questions around what motivates us to be social, the connections between our emotions and our social experiences, and how to better address loneliness and social isolation using community-based and digital health interventions. We are especially interested in these questions in people living with serious mental illness (including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and depression). We use behavioral, neuroimaging, psychophysiology, qualitative, and mobile methods (including ecological momentary assessment) in our research.
