To find market research use the following research guides. All of these are under “Get Help -> Research Guides -> Entrepreneurship -> Industry and Market Research” on the Tisch Library website.

Go to Industries & Market Research: Market Research & Analysis

The following databases are most useful:
Market Research Databases

Statista

  • Search for company names (e.g. Netflix)
  • Easy to use
  • Get data fast
  • Look for “Dossiers” in the left column to get big files with lots of data

Market Research Databases

EMIS

  • Huge database with lots of filters
  • About half the content is news (can filter that out if you want)
  • A typical search for company/industry would look like this:
    • Set your filters:
    • Search company name
    • Switch to Industry tab
    • Peruse your awesome results
Market Research Databases

ABI Inform

Note, you will still have access to this database after you graduate with your Tufts credentials.

  • Primarily a news database with a little market research
  • Contains Wall Street Journal content (see the article on reading WSJ articles)
  • Worth exploring – useful for well after graduation
  • Using the filter “Anywhere but full text” is useful for keeping the number of results manageable.
  • Use the filters on the left to narrow results:
    • Limit by company
    • Limit data rage (probably only interested in 2014-present most likely)
    • Add keywords to limit results further

Bloomberg Terminal

There is a Bloomberg Terminal in the Ginn LIbrary (at the Fletcher School) that you can reserve time on. It is an on-campus resource only.
