Cyberspace and World Order

The Murrow Center is leading the exploration in a new school-wide research initiative on Cyberspace and World Order. The initiative builds upon the ongoing work of Fletcher faculty, students, and research centers. Director Edward Schumacher-Matos is working with a faculty committee, student groups, Fletcher alumni and outside thought-leaders to review what we know and don’t know about the impact of digital disruption and cyber developments on the international system.

The research initiative seeks to examine the evolving landscape of global cyber security and vulnerability, from a policy perspective. The initiative will draw upon Fletcher’s unique interdisciplinary strength in international politics, security, diplomacy, media, law, economics, business, sociology, history, and grand strategy. No one discipline is adequate to understanding the impact and implications of a rapidly changing world puzzle. The global knowledge base is weak; the research need is urgent.
