*Position Summary*

The Florida Museum of Natural History, University of Florida, is
seeking a Public Programs Coordinator. This full-time position is responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of all free and fee-based public programs offered for youth, families, and adults. In addition, this position coordinates community outreach, develops and monitors program budgets, and supervises paid and volunteer staff.

The Florida Museum is located in north central Florida, a beautiful
area with abundant nature and cultural opportunities. The Museum has more than 30 million scientific specimens and though its primary focus is on Florida, the southeastern United States and the Caribbean, the collections and research span the globe. The University of Florida is the state¹s oldest and most comprehensive university with a long history of established programs in international education, research and service.

*Preferred Qualifications*

Masters degree, or its equivalent in work experience, in education,
social science or science, and at least 5 years work experience in a museum or comparable institution. Requires previous experience managing informal education programs, understanding of best practices and current trends in informal science education, and excellent communication, writing and computing skills.
