Communications & Programs Manager

Duties and Responsibilities.
The Communications & Programs Manager works with the Executive Director,
staff, and volunteers to
promote and manage public programs, special events, and other outreach
efforts. He/she also assists with
office management and provides administrative support to the Executive
Director, as needed.

Duties and responsibilities of the Communications & Programs Manager
include, but are not limited to:

Communications & Outreach
€ Create and publish website content
€ Expand and manage museum¹s online presence through social media and
online listings
€ Send and manage E-Newsletter for museum supporters
€ Print and distribute in-house brochures and event calendars

Public Programs & Special Events
€ Coordinate and help develop public education programs
€ Manage group tour reservations and give guided tours, as required
€ Assist in planning and execution of benefit events and site rentals

Administration
€ Maintain office functions, e.g., order supplies, help answer phones,
oversee equipment
maintenance
€ Work with Executive Director to solicit and manage donations
€ Maintain Museum records
€ Undertake special projects for Executive Director, as needed

Qualifications.
Candidates should have a minimum of a BA degree and, ideally, several
years experience working in a
museum or historic house.  Position requires superior organizational and
communication skills, high
energy, mature and motivated outlook, and an extraordinary sense of
humor. Computer savvy (knowledge
of Adobe Design Suite, HTML, and/or database programs a plus).

Salary and Benefits.
This is a full-time, salaried position. Occasional evening and weekend
work is required. The benefit
package includes health insurance, vacation, and holidays. Salary is
commensurate with qualifications
and experience.
