Program Coordinator, School Visits at Page Museum

The *Page Museum at the La Brea Tar Pits *is seeking a Program
Coordinator, School Visits. As part of the Education & Exhibits
Division, the Program Coordinator works closely with the Manager, School
and Teacher Programs to support and facilitate an outstanding and rich
school visits program at the Page Museum at the La Brea Tar Pits.

*Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to: *

* Developing and facilitating school programs
* Scheduling, booking, and facilitating school visits
* Coordinating program scheduling with staff, docents, and volunteers
* Producing attendance and demographic reports as needed
* Daily interaction as a facilitator of a great school visits for
schools and teachers

*This position has the following requirements: *

* Bachelors Degree in biological sciences or other museum related
discipline i.e. education
* Two or more years experience working with school and/or family
audiences in an education setting, science institution preferred
* Experience develeoping prorgrams and/or curriculum
* Audience focused ability to work closely with teachers and
understand their needs
* Excellent customer service skills
* Excellent follow through and attention to detail
* Very flexible and helpful; occasional weekend hours will be required
* Excellent written and verbal English communication skills. Bilingual
ability, especially Spanish, is a plus
* Experience in phones, database management
* Proficiency in using PC computers and software such as Microsoft
Word, Excel, Filemaker Pro, basic internet and email
* Experience working with a diverse populations
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Ability to multi-task and handle multiple priorities

Salary is commensurate with experience plus excellent benefits. This is
a full time, regular, non-exempt position.
