Early Childhood Educator
Full Time/ Exempt
JOB SUMMARY
Works closely with the Early Childhood Manager to support the creation and
implementation of the museum’s early childhood programs, including free and
fee based public programs, in house and outreach school programs,
professional development programs as well as exhibit related, special event
programs and grant funded initiatives.
Work Schedule and Conditions: Weekly Schedule of up to 40 hours per week,
Tuesday-Saturday (on museum floor and in office). Occasional evening work
required. Frequently required to assist in lifting and carrying heavy
objects and materials.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties include, but are not limited to:

*   Working with the Early Childhood Manager to create early childhood
programming including but not limited to, free and fee based public
programs, in-house and outreach school programs, professional development
programs as well as exhibit related and special events programs. (including
grant-funded outreach programs.
*   Assisting in creation of content and implementation of free and fee
based programs, school programs and outreach.
*   Securing all necessary supplies and materials for public programs and
school and group programs.
*   Assisting the Early Childhood Manager in implementing early childhood
conferences and other relevant professional development programs for early
childhood educators.
*   Teaching EdVenture’s camp offerings including summer, winter and spring
break camps.
*   Assisting the education team in planning and creating relevant exhibit-
related and special events education programs.
*   Working with the Museum Experience Manager to schedule and educate
Experience Team members on public and school programs.
*   Provides an up to date record of all spending/purchases.
*   Maintains Early Childhood Exhibits.
*   Special projects as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
Minimum Qualifications: BA/BS in early-childhood education and/or early
childhood development. Minimum of two years experience in education, child
development or other related areas. Should be a team player and have an
understanding of hands-on and informal learning, a commitment to providing
high quality quest services, public speaking experience, and knowledge of
evaluation techniques. Excellent oral and written communications skills.
Computer literacy required including MS Office and Excel.
Preferred but not required: Certifications in infant/ toddler classes. Such
as baby yoga, sign language, mommy and me lap classes, infant music,
puppetry etc
