Associate Graphic Designer
The Metropolitan Museum of Art

This position requires the ability to design and manage projects, communicate with management and the graphic designers to assist in the coordination, design and completion of graphics projects.  This person provides support for co-workers as well as independent projects.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
•Design or assist in the design and completion of various graphic projects:  print, production and exhibitions
•Partner with senior staff to help them facilitate short and long-term projects
•Prepare Comps for presentation
•Assist in color correction
•Participate in the installation of gallery and other graphics
•Other related duties

Requirements and Qualifications:
Experience and Skills:
•5 years of graphic design, preferably in the arts
•Solid understanding of design and production on the Mac
•Excellent skills in Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
•Hands-on production skills essential (comping, mounting, cutting)
•Knowledge of offset printing and print production, both 2 and 4 color
•Good communication skills and ability to function as part of a team
•Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines

Knowledge and Education:
•BA, BFA or equivalent experience required
