A full-time editorial assistant position, reporting to the Director of Publications, is available. The Editorial Assistant will be involved with the production of printed exhibition catalogues as well as related digital publications.

In addition, the Editorial Assistant will be responsible for editing printed ephemera and object labels, proofreading galleys, updating budgets, submitting materials to the Library of Congress, overseeing reprints, corresponding with the museum’s trade publishing distributor, assisting with the preparation of shipping instructions, clearing reproduction rights, and performing occasional research. The Editorial Assistant will also process invoices, send packages, order supplies, and schedule meetings.

Requirements: B.A. in English or Art History; 2 years of editorial experience; excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills; meticulous attention to detail; ability to work under deadline pressure; accountability; professionalism; collegiality; and knowledge of modern and contemporary American art. Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Adobe programs. Familiarity with TMS (The Museum System) preferred. Foreign language skills a plus.
