The Museum seeks a senior-level professional to direct its Education and

Visitor Experience division.  Reporting to the Executive Director, the

incumbent leads the work of more than 20 professionals organized in two

close-functioning departments. Collectively this team conceives, develops,

and presents diverse educational programs and provides a variety of

services that enhance visiting the museum and its exhibitions and

participating in programs.

 

 

 

The incumbent is a member of the Executive Staff and participates in

developing and monitoring the strategic direction and in achieving

strategic and operational goals of the institution.

The Rubin Museum of Art is a dynamic environment that stimulates learning,

promotes understanding, and inspires personal connections to the idea,

cultures, and art of Himalayan Asia. Now in its eighth year, the museum has

welcomed well over 1,000,000 visitors to date.  The museum is recognized

for its innovative exhibitions and programs that explore both focused and

broad themes.  The pace is lively with ten changing exhibitions and more

than 25,000 K-12, University, and Family Visitors participating in programs

yearly.  With a strategic plan guiding the institution¹s direction, an

annual operating budget of over $15 million, and the marking of the

museum¹s tenth anniversary in 2014, this is an exciting time to join the
