Position Title: Family Science Adventures Coordinator Responsible for the development, planning and implementation of a variety of hands-on science activities to be offered for Museum visitors on weekends and during school vacation weeks.
Maintain Family Science Adventures activity supplies and materials, create themed science activities to correspond with special exhibitions, school vacation weeks and other museum events. Some aspects of this position may require standing for long periods of time, and lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds.
• Must be enthusiastic, dependable, and enjoy working with families and the general public.
• Experience working independently with little supervision. • Experience teaching in a Museum or other informal
• Experience planning science activities and creating lesson plans.
• Must have reliable transportation.
Ideal candidates must have a minimum of an Associate’s degree in Education, Early Childhood Education or other related field.Part-time
$12.05 per hour Position Starts: Immediately Saturday’s and Sunday’s 10:30-2:30 October through June 2013, including some holidays, December, February & April School Vacation Weeks, as needed up to 15 hours per week..
