The person in this position adminsiters the Museum exhibition program and is responsible for leading the museum staff in program development for exhibitions, both traditional and media based, and can conduct research of the permanent collections.

Job Requirements

The Curator of Programs should have a record of exhibition development and the skills to interact with artists, collectors, dealers and other members of the art community. The candidate should possess at least three years of museum/gallery curatorial experience. Such experience should include research and scholarship in the field, web and gallery presentations, working with conservators and exhibition designers, and proven oral and written communication skills. It is especially important that the candidate demonstrate experience in creative direction, managing operations, and art handling, as well as museum interpretive strategies, and have the skills and initiative to work as a leader in a team atmosphere and with a wide variety of patrons, volunteers, and community members.

Responsibilities: 

The Curator of Programs reports directly to the Director and will assume the leadership and responsibility for:

• Ensuring the effective development, operation and sustainability of the
exhibition program both in the gallery and on-line;

?• Overseeing the implementation of programs, policies and project development
on a day-to-day basis;?

• Curating exhibitions and web based presentations;

• Assist in the development, introduction and maintenance of a media exhibition program;

• Facilitating access to the Tweed collection and archive;

• Editing publications?
