Position: Lead Historical Interpreter
Location: Colonial Pennsylvania Plantation, Ridley Creek State Park, Media, PA 19063
Description: The Lead Historic Interpreter, under the direction of the Director of Education, participates
in and supervises staff during on-site and outreach programming. The position is part-time and seasonal.
Key Responsibilities:
 Assist in creation of and presentation of training programs for the Education Staff
 Schedule staff for weekday group programs, summer camp and community outreaches.
 Oversee daily operation of Education programs on site and outreach
Requirements:
 Sincere interest in Colonial American History
 Experience with “living history” interpretation
 Experience with hands-on programming for school age children
 Demonstrated leader with ability to interact with clients and staff in productive way
 Demonstrated ability to supervise staff to ensure that historic interpretation is accurate and
reflects the Plantation’s goals and mission
 Excellent interpersonal skills
 Must be able to work creatively and effectively as a member of a team
 Detail oriented with ability to multi-task
 Museum and/or teaching experience
