The Hunterdon Art Museum seeks a Development Officer to create and manage a comprehensive fundraising plan to meet short and long term fundraising goals and, in particular, to establish a robust program of individual giving.

The Development Officer’s responsibilities include all aspects of fundraising including grants, special events, major gifts, individual giving, campaigns, and planned giving.  This position requires identifying, researching and pursuing new opportunities for funding from individuals, foundations, and corporations; writing grant proposals; managing all special events, including the Museum’s annual gala; directing an annual phonathon and end-of-the-year appeal, and ensuring overall funder compliance.

The successful candidate will have significant fundraising experience, excellent writing, organizational, interpersonal, computer and non-profit database/gift processing skills, and be able to handle multiple priorities.

The Hunterdon Art Museum was founded in 1952.  The Museum focuses on contemporary art, craft, and design.  It presents more than a dozen exhibitions and offers more than 200 studio courses annually. Located in Clinton, New Jersey, 55 miles from New York City and 60 miles from Philadelphia, the Museum is housed in an 1836 mill that is on the National Historic Register.
