Program Assistant, CCHP

The Chemical Heritage Foundation (CHF) has an opening for a one-year position as a program assistant in its Center for Contemporary History and Policy. The program assistant will be responsible for working with the oral histories produced by the various programs at the CHF and in the CCHP. Key responsibilities include:

• Processing oral histories (listening to audio recordings, editing transcripts, and working with interviewees and other CCHP staff to finalize the oral histories for inclusion in the Othmer Library);
• Arranging internal and external meetings and appointments;
• Drafting correspondence and internal reports;
• Handling filing and other administrative/office tasks;
• When assigned, providing general research and administrative assistance to other projects in CCHP;
• And participating in CHF-sponsored events and other duties and responsibilities.

Qualifications:

• B.A./B.S. in the humanities or social sciences
• Knowledge of research techniques for history and/or the social sciences
• Proofreading and oral and written communication skills
• Strong organizational skills and attentiveness to detail
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
