£18,056 per annum, pro rata
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join the department of Collection Services at the British Museum. The Collections Storage Assistants will assist in the delivery of a series of projects relating to the Museum’s ongoing programme of collection storage improvements. These projects will require the post holder to assist in the re-location of collections as part of the World Conference and Exhibitions Centre (WCEC) Project.
You will be expected to possess practical skills in the moving, packing and re-storing of objects and be able to employ best practice in all aspects of collections storage and object handling. With manual dexterity and an appreciation of materials and objects you will be responsible for maintaining storage areas; including monitoring environmental conditions, pest management and security. IT experience is also an essential requirement in order to record all object movements.
Educated to GCSE level (or equivalent), you will be a self-motivator, be flexible in your approach to working and have the ability to manage your time effectively.
