Longwood Gardens invites applicants for the managerial position of Continuing Education Coordinator in the Education Department.

Position Description: The Continuing Education Coordinator administers all aspects, including budgetary, of the Continuing Education Division to ensure world-class delivery of our programs. The incumbent of this full-time position leads and administers the development, publication, distribution, and delivery of on-site and online CE courses, tours, workshops, and sponsored events, including their associated curricula, course manuals, instructional materials, and promotional materials. Particular focus over the next five years will be on advancing Longwood’s online learning initiatives via our learning management system, webcasts, and interactive video conferencing.

The incumbent is responsible for visioning, leading, developing, implementing, and evaluating efficient and effective operations and management of the CE Division. He/She implements and leads the actions of his/her staff to fulfill Longwood’s Strategic Plan.

Continuing Education Division Description: The CE Division is one of five academic divisions within Longwood’s Education Department. The CE Division includes one full-time CE Associate, one part-time Administrative Assistant, three part-time CE Assistants, ten part-time CE Lab Instructors, and approximately 47 contractual instructors. An Instructional Designer works across all divisions of the Department.

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will possess the minimum of a Master’s degree in Education, Agricultural Education, or closely related area and have a minimum of five years’ demonstrated excellence in curriculum and course design and delivery (web-enhanced, hybrid, immersive, and face-to-face) with focus on adult learners. Experience in horticulture, budget administration, and supervision is desired.
