The 9/11 Memorial Museum is in the process of finalizing key exhibition
components, including the content within a memorial exhibition, In Memoriam.
The Memorial Exhibition Assistant will work with the Museum staff to
coordinate and execute the processing, documentation, review, and approval
for digital content to be incorporated into an exhibition devoted to
understanding the magnitude of loss and the individuality of nearly 3,000
lives in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 and February 26, 1993.
The Memorial Exhibition Assistant will report to the Assistant Director of
Exhibition Development.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
 Primary:
o Facilitating the population, review, and approval of interactive table
content. The interactive tables, a touch screen interactive component in
the exhibition, will allow visitors to delve into the Museum’s collection
by searching for a unique individual or groups of individuals. Visitors will
be able to browse and select from available photographs, written
tributes, and recordings which speak to the life of a unique victim, his or
her personal passions and their remaining legacy.
 Secondary:
o Supporting other tasks related to the acquisition, cataloguing, and
tracking of assets for the exhibition as well as preparing deliveries to
enable sharing this information with exhibition designers, media
producers and partner organizations.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS REQUIREMENT

 Undergraduate degree in a liberal arts or museum related field.
 Graduate studies in museum studies, library and information science, or
liberal arts desirable.
 Excellent communication, research, organizational, and writing skills.
Methodical and attentive to detail.2
 Familiarity with a range of computer programs, including the Microsoft
Office suite.
 Experience with database management and entry, and controlled museum
vocabularies preferred.
 General knowledge of September 11, 2001 and February 26, 1993 events
helpful.
