The Chemical Heritage Foundation (CHF) invites applications for a Development Project Assistant who will help advance strategic projects and help build relations with individual and institutional donors worldwide. The Development Project Assistant will report to the Director of Institutional Grants and Strategic Projects and will work closely with the Vice President for Institutional Advancement as well as with staff in CHF’s program areas. This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities:
– Develop and write project descriptions and project reports
– Review and edit correspondence, articles for publication, and project reports
– Research individuals, corporations, foundations, and government funding sources
– Research topics in the history of science and business
– Report on research findings
– Communicate with individuals and organizations both orally and in writing
– Participate in CHF-sponsored events and undertake other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree. in humanities, especially history, or a Bachelor’s degree in the sciences or in business with a strong humanities background
– Proficiency in Word, Outlook, and Excel
– Ability and willingness to tackle topics in science, business, and the history of science
– Strong analytical skills
– Strong writing skills
– Demonstrated research skills
– Ability to handle multiple projects
– Good time management skills
– Good interpersonal communication skills
– A strong interest in history and the historical impact of science and technology
– Knowledge of a foreign language is helpful though not required
