The Rodel Foundation ofDelaware was created in 1999 with a singularmission to ensure all Delaware
students have accessto world‐classschools.Delaware is widely and justifiably considered a national
leaderfor education policy initiatives.Oursmallsize and aligned state and local leadership has allowed
itto be on the cutting edge ofinnovative reform, and was criticalto its being awarded the first Race to
the Top grant of $119million dollars,followed quickly by another $50million dollarinvestmentin Early
Childhood Education.
The Rodel Foundation ofDelaware has been instrumental in thissuccess. Working with educators,
policymakers, community leaders, and parents, we believeDelaware can create a systemof public

Summary:
The ProgramOfficerisresponsible for providing leadership,strategic input, andmanagement of Rodel
and outside partner projects on varioustopics, with a focus on human capital and personalization. The
role requiresstrong criticalthinking, analytic,management, and leadership skills, a roll‐up‐yoursleeves
mentality, good judgment, and the ability tomanage complex local and national partnerships.
EssentialDuties and Responsibilities:
 Provide leadership in policy,research, evaluation, andmanagementsupportfor Rodel
Foundation programs, partner and statewide entity initiatives
 Work collaboratively with teamof programofficers, associates, and internsin orderto conduct
research, develop policy agenda, and produce policy briefsfor broad range of audiences
 Manage key Rodel initiatives, with particularfocus on issues ofteacher quality,school choice,
and college readiness Support development of policy agenda and organizationalstrategy
 Work with Vice President, Policy and Practice andGovernment Affairs Managerto assess
political landscape, develop organizational agenda, and draft proposalsfor new legislation and
regulation
 Provide programmanagementsupport, including research, engagement of national experts,
meeting preparation, and writing,to statewide policy efforts and Rodel Foundation initiatives
 Conductlong‐termprogramstrategy formulation and develop presentationmaterialsfor
multiple stakeholder audiences
To performthisjob effectively, a Bachelor’sDegree isrequired, and a Master’sDegree strongly
preferred. In addition, knowledge in state and national education systems, policies, and practices
strongly preferred. Familiarity withDelaware and/or experience with teaching is preferred, but not
required.
