The Metropolitan Museum of Art seeks part-time Visitor Services Assistants. This position’s primary responsibility is running the Admissions registers and performing reliefs for the other cashiers. This position also functions as a back-up for office personnel as well as to all areas of the Department, including the Information, and Group Registration Desks. Other responsibilities include greeting, advising and directing visitors to Museum facilities and services and explaining Museum rules and policies; and actively sell Museum Membership and Antenna Audio at the register. Must have excellent communication skills and ability to impart Museum policies to visitors with accuracy and finesse. Must be able to operate in high-pressure situations. Must be able to work weekends. Art history background and knowledge of foreign language preferred. Cashier experience required.
