The Taft Museum of Art is seeking an enthusiastic professional for the
position of Manager of School and Docent Programs. Reporting to the Taft¹s
Curator of Education, the Manager of School and Docent Programs will
initiate, develop, implement, and evaluate programs that serve students and
teachers of the Greater Cincinnati community, and maintain and enhance
docent/education volunteer programs in alignment with the Taft¹s mission
and long range plan goals. The Manager of School and Docent Programs will
have significant contact with teachers and volunteers. Current school and
docent programs include, but are not limited to, a year-long program for
high school art students, multi-visit and outreach arts-integrated programs
for elementary schools, school tours for grades 2-12, teacher professional
development workshops, summer art camp, and the docent/education volunteer
program. The Manager of School and Docent Programs also contributes to
family programs and works closely with the Scheduling Manager/Volunteer
Coordinator.****

The ideal candidate will be outgoing, pleasant, diplomatic, energetic,
creative, highly organized, able to manage multiple projects and deadlines,
and with demonstrated strengths in the following areas:****

**·        **Developing, implementing, managing, and evaluating programs
for school audiences****

**·        **Recruiting, training, and managing interns and
docents/education volunteers****

**·        **Working with teaching artists****

**·        **Developing relationships with schools, including teachers and
administrators****

**·        **Public speaking****

**·        **Preparing lesson plans****

**·        **Developing and managing budgets****

Requirements:****

**·        **Master¹s degree from an accredited college or university in
art education, museum education, museum studies, art history, or related
field. (Equivalent experience will also be considered.)****

**·        **At least one year experience developing and managing school
programs in an art museum or similar non-profit institution.****

**·        **Knowledge of art/art history, state/national academic content
standards, current museum teaching strategies, and learning theory.****

**·        **Proficiency with Windows Office Suite and web content
management.****

**·        **Must have a valid driver¹s license, access to an automobile,
be able to climb stairs, and to stand for up to three hours at a time.****

**·        **Some weekend and evening responsibilities.****

**·        **Classroom teaching experience a plus.****
