Reporting to the Curator & Department Head of Decorative Arts & Design, the Curatorial Administrator
provides administrative and general office support to the department, which covers European and
American decorative arts from the Middle Ages to the present.
Some duties include: coordinates projects with museum staff and facilitates requests from museum
patrons on behalf of the department; schedules and maintains appointment calendar; makes calls to
dealers, donors and lenders, and answers incoming calls; assists with exhibition programs; helps with
gallery installations; maintains and updates permanent collection files; handles and tracks curator’s
paperwork flow; monitors and tracks the department budget; makes travel arrangements.
The qualified candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in Art History, Museum Studies, or related field,
and at least one year of administrative experience in a professional environment. The candidates must
be highly energetic with strong interpersonal skills. Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office,
PowerPoint and Suite are required.
