The Museum of Jewish Heritage – A Living Memorial to the Holocaust is seeking an Assistant Program Manager for FASPE.  FASPE is an innovative program for students in professional schools designed to address contemporary ethical issues through a unique historical context. The Fellowships provide law, medical, journalism, and seminary students a structured program of study that initially focuses on the role of their chosen professions in Nazi Germany and then uses that historic framework to explore contemporary ethical issues.  Responsibilities include assisting the Managing Director with the programming and planning of the Fellowships at Auschwitz for the Study of Professional Ethics, including communication with national and international program partners, organizing and analyzing recruitment efforts, developing program materials, consulting with program faculty, and working with FASPE Fellows.  You will also be responsible for coordinating the logistics of the travel, room and board, meals, and other needs of the student groups during planning of summer 2014 programs.

 

Candidates must have a Masters degree in European history, education, Holocaust Studies, or related field and experience with ethics, professional development, or experiential education.  Ph.D. preferred.  Excellent organizational and communication skills.  Proven ability to work closely and comfortably with others, including traveling with groups.  Excellent computer skills – knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook and Internet search/booking ability. German language skills necessary. This is a part time position, 20 hours a week.
