The President of the High Desert Museum (HDM) is the chief executive officer of a nationally recognized, accredited, privately funded regional museum ($3.3M operating budget) interpreting the cultural history, art, and wildlife of the High Desert region. The position requires a visionary and charismatic leader to guide HDM through the next stage of its maturation by overseeing long-range strategies, annual fundraising efforts, an upcoming endowment campaign, ongoing fiduciary oversight, and a commitment to the stewardship of the natural and cultural resources of the High Desert.

Requirements

Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field with five-to-ten years of experience at a senior management level, demonstrated leadership capacity, familiarity with the cultural nonprofit sector, demonstrated fundraising experience, and the leadership skills to develop and maintain strong interpersonal relationships with key stakeholders, the community, and staff in advancing the museum mission and service to local and regional communities, and international visitors.

Compensation is commensurate with experience.
