Community Engagement Assistant
Classification: Regular/part-time

Location: Haverhill, Mass.

Description and Responsibilities: Historic New England seeks a part-time community engagement assistant to provide administrative and research support to the community engagement and exhibitions team and advance the successful Everyone’s History <http://www.historicnewengland.org/events-programs/everyones-history>  initiative and related partnership efforts. This is an opportunity to work on projects that engage new constituencies and institutional partners both large and small in all six New England states.

This position is based in Haverhill, MA

Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree in public history, museum studies, or a related field. Completion of an internship at a museum or historic site, or related experience. Strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Organizational skills, problem solving skills, and fully competent computer skills, including use of word processing, PowerPoint, and spreadsheet functions. Valid driver’s license and ability to drive are required. Experience with Plone or similar web content management system, conducting/working with oral histories, working with volunteers, and working with senior citizens preferred.
