The Education Specialist is responsible for the development and implementation of educational and public programs for early learners, including Pre K-2 and their caregivers, interpreting the Museum’s natural science and arts collection. Programming includes educator-led programs, outreach, after-school programs, and assisting with teacher professional development workshops. The qualified candidate will have 3 years of experience working as an educator (formally or informally). Candidate is trained in early childhood education. Experience working with the general public, in a museum or other public program setting, is a plus. Minimum of an Associates degree in early childhood education; Bachelor’s degree preferred and/or combination of Associates degree with demonstrated professional experience. Excellent writing and public speaking skills necessary. Ability to work effectively under minimal supervision and in a team-oriented environment. Must communicate professionally with administrators, educators, and the general public. Sense of humor and total enjoyment of work is an absolute must!
